Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Wendy and her mother owned the Carlyn Galerie in Preston Center – Dallas. For over 30 years, the gallery carried a variety of artwork including jewelry from various national artists. Wendy was inspired by the beauty and the talent that surrounded her. It wasn't until one day, she tried fixing a piece of jewelry for a client. What started with her curiosity and ability to fix jewelry, soon led to her desire for designing her own unique and creative pieces. Without hesitation she attended the Craft Guild in Dallas along with several workshops to learn all about the intricacies of jewelry design. A new artist was born.
Unfortunately, in 2014, Wendy was diagnosed with a rare debilitating disease – CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), a disease which affected her ability to walk and caused her detrimental chronic pain. A few years later in 2017, the Carlyn Galerie had to close its doors. Suddenly, what started as a hobby became a life-long passion that allowed her to find peace and freedom, love for life and inspiration. Working peacefully on her mat, she now focuses on each and every one of her designs, what she is capable of creating, and the joy that it brings to her and those around her.
Wendy’s collection can be described as elegant, yet playful and versatile. She feels that each of her designs represents her outlook in life and her desire to overcome. She personally selects all beads, stones and metals ensuring only the highest quality is used. Wendy takes pride in knowing that her designs come from the heart. Her creations bring out the best in her, as a mother, a wife, a friend and an entrepreneur. With the support of her husband and son, her family and friends, she has found the glass half full.
